New name and new brand for 50 year old
organisation
Sales & Marketing Executives
International, which was launched in New Zealand as part of an international
organisation around the world in the 1940s, has represented sales
professionals, sales managers and marketing managers for over 50 years.
The organisation now has a new name and a new
brand. Its new name is the Sales and Marketing Institute of New
Zealand, and its brand emphasises the new direction that the organisation is
taking as the leading association for professional sales managers and
marketing managers.

The logo represents our 3 fundamental
values:
Partnership – two shaking hands, networking
people, and the sales agreement;
Incubating – nurturing, growth and
development;
Direction – an ‘eye’ looking to the
future.
Sales managers, marketing managers, and
people who hold positions within the various areas of sales and marketing
throughout New Zealand now have an opportunity to belong to an organisation
that will lift their professional skills, challenge them, build networks,
and represent the importance to business of the roles that sales people and
marketing people play.
Without marketing managers finding markets of
potential customers, and getting them to make enquiries by phone, by mail,
by personal visit, or through a website, there wouldn’t be any sales for
the sales people to help customers make decisions on, to make sure that the
products and services within businesses are converted into revenue to help
pay for the production and the technical development.
Sales and marketing professionals are truly
the main engines of many businesses, helping customers decide that they
should be buying the products and services.
The new logo and the new name bring a 50 year
old, established association to the forefront of 2004 thinking.
