Hi! Friends, 
The  business  climate is  getting better, I am hearing so much good news   over the last month: 
some examples....
A sale  closed for a  large  garden equipment item  after 6 months trying...
Business  trebling for a payroll software company having their best ever month...
New  export business  from Argentina for  a clothing  designer....
A Country Lodge  Wedding reception  centre  with bookings  every Saturday until  April  2000...
Sunglass distributor with summer sales  up 25%..and 200   new accounts..
Music distributor with  another shopping mall  client added  after tough negotiations....
A Training   producer creating  a new Customer service  video by interviewing  real people  out on the street  and the end result  will surprise you {I had a sneak preview, it is good}
A Blind cleaning  franchise  with  5 franchises   sold within the last month...
A Pharmacy chain  securing  the rights to  locate a Pharmacy inside the
front door of every Warehouse   discount dept. store  giving them a total of
66  outlets to  build business with over the next  12 months....

Then to top it off  I personally have had  the best  January /Feb  for
Training Seminars  in four years,  very busy and   getting   favourable comments  too,

Some  ideas   to consider   with your marketing  at the moment:

Prospecting:  The biggest  sin of most reps  is  that they don't prospect either within existing clients or for new clients. Try a incentive  for prospects  created for the reps,   and  tie it into a referral reward program for customers.
Customer love  being rewarded  for  passing on a name for a good  supplier... Now that summer is nearly over  the good feeling about your  company needs    highlighting.... more referrals  are given in
the next two months  than at any other time of the year......

The point of difference: Take a few moments out to look at your communication and advertising material. Does it  tell your clients why you are different, does it list the services  and benefits you offer, and the reasons why these are  better than everybody else...... ask yourself the "so what " questions......if I was a customer  or stranger to this material would I understand what makes this company different  and ideal to do business  with!

Business cards:   does yours give  reasons  for doing business   with you, and on the back does it list all your key points , services, brands, products etc....even your web site address....

Good news  for media  advertisers: costs have fallen on TV, Radio, Magazines and newspapers  because  readership/ viewers/ listeners  have fallen - so publishers cannot command  the  fees! 
Where are a lot of people shifting their ad spend to?  Web Site  promotion, Out door signage,  and direct marketing offers to database  clients, with a lot of  E-mail  communication....

E-mail has  forced  a big interest  in  English grammar  seminars   to reinforce those child hood classes.....

the 7 new  segments  that have opened up according to a recent research study: 99 lives  for the on the go, Cocooning for non city, Small indulgences  for  reaction to stress, Being alive for the health trend, Pleasure revenge for balance in your eating habits, Clanning / fantasy  for cafe lifestylers, Vigilante  Consumer  to save our society......ideal for segmentation studies.

Y2K  interesting  research, many  companies claim to have reviewed their systems  for compliance  already  by writing to suppliers  yet when asked about their own checking they claim to be putting it off  until after the year end  tax period!

Favourite time for  team  training seminars  at the moment late afternoon
4.00pm -7.00pm  to give least interference  with  clients and take a little of the employees time  from leisure......lunch  seminars  are mainly replaced by breakfast sessions  or these late afternoon  seminars...


Smile a bit more!  Research  shows that  children smile up to 400 times a day  and suffer less stress than adults who only  smile about 25 times a day...go on  make my day...smile!
